Mudra scheme has proven as a game changer for the trading community in ten years

As the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) has proven to be a game changer for the trading community of the Country for which the traders of India are grateful to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who pioneered this initiative ten years back to help the sector which remained unfunded with formal finance for a longer period in the Country- said Mr Praveen Khandelwal BJP MP & Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders ( CAIT). Mudra Scheme which completes a successful decade has significantly empowered India’s trading community- added Khandelwal

Mr Khandelwal said that since its inception in 2015, Mudra Yojana has emerged as a game-changer for small traders and shopkeepers across the country. By offering collateral-free loans through the Shishu, Kishore, and Tarun categories, the scheme has provided much-needed financial assistance to millions of micro and small businesses, enabling them to expand operations, upgrade infrastructure, and enhance their working capital.

In an era where formal financial access was once a challenge for small traders, Mudra Yojana has bridged the gap and infused new life into grassroots trade and commerce. It has not only improved credit availability but also boosted self-employment and encouraged entrepreneurship at the local level.

Over the past 10 years, lakhs of traders have been direct beneficiaries of this scheme, helping them sustain and grow their businesses, especially during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic. The scheme’s role in strengthening the unorganized sector and promoting Atmanirbhar Bharat is commendable- said Khandelwal
